Keeping your touch with joy

We want our work to stand out, our creativity to be vibrant, and we want to speak our truth (even though we don’t even know what it means yet).

We all want an inspired state of mind, not only emotionally but also reflected in our creative work. Joy is the key to bringing out the quality and authenticity of what we produce.

Yesterday, I received a gift that said, “A life of wonders is a wonderful life.” Bringing joy into our lives is the same thing as bringing a sense of wonder and curiosity — which we are all very well familiar with… in childhood.

Our deepest and most meaningful work usually are deeply connected to how we learned to survive in childhood, but not only that. We know that everything is not only about trauma. It also has to do with what brought you joy when you were a kid. Have you thought about that?

Joy should be independent of external rewards and validation. It’s about having a sense of purpose. When you find joy in the process, you don’t care about the failures; they’re there not to discourage you, but to show you how to reroute and keep going, making you more resilient and optimistic.

Nurturing a mindset of keeping in touch with what brings you joy is not only about letting loose; it’s about accepting you deserve it, too.
